Winners of the QMC@HOME birthday competition
In the three main categories the winners where elected by our users:
 | Winner of the Simple GUI project skin design competition: Simple GUI skin by Olaf Bornack and Michael 'Miko' Kopsieker. Olaf is one of the founders of BOINC@Halle/Saale, because he sees BOINC as a great opportunity to take part in science without beeing a scientist. Miko is the founder of the Crunching Familiy and lives in the Tyrolean Lechtal. Both Olaf and Miko are active in the BOINC community as BOINC help volunteers. |
 | Winner of the Mug design competition: Mug design by Myster65. Myster65 is member and team founder of team NGI Net Gamers Italy. He is active as a BOINC help volunteer and he is the creator of a collection of BOINC stamps and several BOINC banners. |
 | Winner of the Other promotion material design competition: Stamp by Myster65. Myster65 is member and team founder of team NGI Net Gamers Italy. He is active as a BOINC help volunteer and he is the creator of a collection of BOINC stamps and several BOINC banners. |
Additionally four special prices will be given out to work of exceedingly high quality:

| Special price: Mouse pad by Yoyo. Yoyo is a member of Rechenkraft.net, a non-profit association for the advancement of volunteer computing. Rechenkraft.net is going to publish a book on volunteer computing in the next months and plans his own distributed computing project. |
 | Special price: Notepad by Rebirther. Rebirther is member of the BOINC Confederation. |
 | Special price: Wallpaper by Cori. Cori lives in Bielfeld, a german city that is often suspected to be non-existent at all ... Designing project logos and BOINC skins is fun for Cori, who earns her money as a freelance video editor. She started volunteer computing around 2002 with SETI Classic, simply because she was searching for a completely different screensaver ... |

The main category winners will be awarded with half a year worth of computing power, every special price gives three months compute time (one of our workstation is run under their account data for the corresponding time, starting August 2007).
